If you are looking to lose fat, build strength, recover from an injury, improve your general fitness or reduce back pain in a sustainable and safe manner whilst at the same time enjoying the experience, then I can help you.
Building strength should be a priority when starting any journey. It’s quite easy to get carried away with cardio workouts to lose fat but focussing more on strength will help you preserve and build muscle. If you want to have a high metabolism then strength training is a must. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day. Not only will you improve your metabolism but you’ll improve your physique, mindset and confidence as well as maintain healthy bones, improve posture, sleep, balance and performance.
Back pain and injuries are usually a result of a few things. Bad posture, weak core muscle, poor mobility and poor recovery. Bad posture and mobility can have negative effects on your day to day activities as it puts a lot of pressure on the spine. It can cause headaches and drowsiness. Good posture will reduce the risks of injury and make exercise easier. This is why I focus on assessing my clients beforehand so that I can provide the most effective and safe training programs.
Losing fat shouldn’t be complicated. But with all the conflicting information on the internet it’s hard to know where to start. The thing is is that fat loss should be a by product of the changes you make to your lifestyle, it shouldn’t be your main focus. It’s important that we focus on losing fat for the right reasons. Like your mental health, to reduce the risks of heart disease and diabetes, to live longer, to feel happier, sleep better, improved sex drive and better hormonal balance. My weight loss programs focus on improving your overall lifestyle with fun effective workouts and easy to follow nutritional guidance.
With obesity rates going up and the risks of heart diseases and diabetes increasing it’s more important now that we focus on improving our health and fitness. Even just losing 5% of your body weight can have huge impacts on your health. Just increasing your steps can make a big difference. The minimum requirements for physical activity each week to maintain or lose weight is 30-60mins 3-4 times a week. The main focus should always be your nutrition. Developing a healthy relationship with your diet and consuming nutritious foods every day is the key to a healthy heart. This is the one thing that I take pride in educating my clients on. With my experience my clients know they are getting factual information.
Exercise alone can dramatically improve your mental health and your mental health is so important to improve your lifestyle and to keep you on track with your goals. Diet alone is not the answer. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. Improving your mental health through physical activity will improve your quality of life. This is why I make sure that the workouts I provide are fun but also challenging. I also help my clients overcome barriers, by helping them set small realistic goals, planing effectively and giving them the support they need.
Setting yourself short and long term goals is important when starting your journey. You need to have a vision of where you want to be. Achieving new goals is one thing that’s going to help keep you motivated and seeing progress. It can be challenging working out how to set goals which is why I help my clients set them and we work out a structured plan on how they are going to achieve them. It will also have positive impacts on your mindset and will help keep you accountable.
We can train where it’s convenient for you. You don’t need to worry about equipment for the sessions as I bring everything you will need for the workout.
Your first session is spent exploring what it is you want to achieve, your current mindset and current lifestyle habits. I will assess your fitness levels and mobility and I’ll ask about your past and present lifestyle. This will enable me to write up a health and fitness plan tailored your specific wishes and requirements.
You don’t need to provide anything except the vital information that I will require during that first session plus your commitment to fully engage with the program which might entail a change in your current lifestyle.
